The sun was shining in North London today with a beautiful blue sky, so we took a trip to Enfield to check up on, and photograph, one of our local projects that's nearing completion: two new, high-quality family homes in Second Avenue, Enfield, Hertfordshire, that will be completed in the next few weeks.
Experience Counts
This development is a great example of how Simon Kaufman Architects are not simply there for the concept stage, we work with our clients to see projects through from the initial brief to final successful completion – with all the twists and turns that can happen along the way.
We understand how to design and to deliver, with a wealth of successful experience with Local Authority planning departments; and practical site knowledge for construction.
And we take immense care to make sure our early stage design and planning drawings are fully fit for building regulations and construction purposes, as well as looking great - a surprisingly rare skill! And we're on hand to support and advise our clients at every step of the process.
Maximising the Development Potential of Small Urban Plots
Our project at Second Avenue in Enfield involved subdividing a large rear garden plot of a locally historic house, and providing two 3-bedroom family homes in the same space.
These carefully designed houses are an attractive addition to the local area and a great example of our expertise in maximising the potential of small urban sites. Our sensitive architectural approach to the historic context meant that these new homes blend with the surrounding period properties. We ensured the new houses match the height, character, and style of the local surroundings, while being mindful of the client's budget and the need for a cost-effective construction process.
It's also vitally important to us that small urban sites like this can be utilised to the maximum advantage, as it means that we're delivering new family homes to meet Capital's housing needs and without encroaching on precious green spaces.
