Transforming Two 1970s Office Blocks into Contemporary Urban Homes

Two outdated commercial buildings in the heart of Ilford have been given a new lease of life, reimagined as modern residential developments with commercial activity retained at street level. This project represents a broader push to regenerate underused town centre plots into valuable housing, aligned with local regeneration goals.

The conversions included new facades to improve energy performance and street presence, along with two additional floors and reworked rear courtyards to maximise usable space. Internal layouts were adapted to meet contemporary residential standards while keeping buildability and cost-efficiency in focus.
