Warehouse Conversion to luxury apartments

Long & Waterson, Shoreditch, London, UK

This high-value development transformed two historic warehouse buildings in a Shoreditch conservation area into 119 luxury apartments with bespoke loft-style interiors and landscaped communal spaces.

Simon Kaufman led the technical design stage as the architect for a multi-disciplinary team, delivering full construction information, resolving complex buildability issues, and navigating heritage planning constraints. The scheme balanced conservation requirements with commercial pressures and high-end residential expectations.

Following tender, Simon was retained client-side as development director through the construction phase. He managed consultants and contractors, coordinated change control, and oversaw quality assurance to completion. This role ensured the client's commercial objectives were met without compromising the architectural integrity or delivery standards.

The project demonstrates our ability to work across all phases of a complex, design-led development—from early technical work through to client-side leadership. We bring continuity, technical competence, and strong project governance to every stage of delivery.
